Description | WhakamāramaTe Toka Tirikawa is located behind the inlet of Mauao, Te Awaiti. Te Awaiti is where the waka of Ngati Ranginui landed, Takitimu. Te Awaiti is also significant to Ngāi Te Rangi as it is where Taapuiti and his men departed after the battle of Kōkōwai.
